Love Is Cruel III

Emily is invited to become a member of the People to People Student Ambassador Program from the greater Cleveland area traveling to England, Wales, and Ireland in the summer of 2008. Emily was recommended for the educational travel experience by a teacher who recgognized your child's leadership potential.

Emily will benefit from traveling internationally while earning high school or university credit. Student Ambassadors represent their school, community and country in England, Wales, and Ireland, experience new cultures, and make lifelong friends. Emily will experience personal growth in the following areas:

  • Confidence and leadership --- Rappel down a tower of medieval Penrhyn Castle in Wales with experienced outdoor guides as part of a leadership training adventure.
  • Cultural understanding --- Learn to speak Welsh, celebrate Irish music and dance, and experience historic fortresses on Ireland's rugged west coast.
  • World awareness --- Go behind the scenes with a former member of Parliament, explore the ancient Roman city of Bath, and brave the dungeons and towers of medieval castles.
  • Friendships and memories --- Stay with a warm, welcoming local family, take in a London theater show, and have your picture taken with a Beefeater at the Tower of London.

Can you imagine how amazing that would be?

We get this letter every fall.
And every fall I wish I could go.
And every fall we look at the website
and every fall we think about it whistfully for a few days
and every fall we eventually forget and move on.
Until next fall.

I get those too!
I've gotten two of them so far.
Last year I had my choice of where to go, and this year I'd be going to Italy, France, and Greece.

It would be so much fun to go.

The Scientist gets this letter too. I think we'll just travel to Europe on our own, someday.
