Orthodontist appointment today. I got my top expander. Ugh.
It went on pretty well. Then they had to cement it to my teeth. And it was fine.
Then they had to show my uncle how to turn it. Because it has to be turned every day.
That was pretty painful. I winced and tensed up and my feet twitched. Somehow when Im uncomfortable or in pain I move my feet. Thats kind of weird. But anyways. Then my uncle was like "Well I have to show her parents" so the orthodontist showed him again. He uncranked it. And then he cranked it again.
ugh.
So i have this big honkin' piece of metal in my mouth. And I talk funny and I slurp because it makes me drool. And it feels like Im slowly getting my lip pierced from the inside out. And it has to be cranked every day.... it only hurts the first couple of days supposedly. And eventually I'll have a gap between my front two teeth.
And now all my siblings are making funny of me.
Life is peachy.
Don't make me go emo on ya'll.

Bummer. Like your project playlist thingy-ma-bob though.
thank you ^_^ lol
I remember those days. When ever I got my braces tightened I would chew some gum and that would help loosen up the tight feeling in my mouth. Also I used some wax for the poking metal that would poke my mouth.
Just some suggetions from someone who knows what your going through.
I hope that is helpful for you.

gum is a no-no for me, lol, plus i think it would get stuck in the gap between my expander and the roof of my mouth.
and they did give me some wax
thanks!
Oh yeah, i had an expander forever, it seemed like. You get kind of used to it after a bit and don't drool so much. =P
Oh dear. I had it for about six months, mom says. Then i chewed gum nonstop for two days before i got my OC2: Open/Close 2 for the gap in my front teeth.
I shouldn't be telling you this.
But anyway. The OC2 was better, more of just a retainer thing. First i had to wear it all the time, then after a while it was just all night and most of the day, and it just petered off.
I never got wax! I feel gypped.
