Move Review: The Holiday

Title: The Holiday
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Rating: PG-13
Starring: Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslett, Jack Black and Jude Law
I give this movie seven out of ten stars.

Two women on opposite ends of the globe are having guy problems. In L.A. Amanda Woods finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her and then lied about it before confessing and in England, Iris Simpkins is madly in love with a man who could never love her back. The two meet online and decide to swap houses for the holiday.

Amanda, used to her huge Hollywood villa has to adapt to the cold, small, Thomas Kinkade style house in London. Meanwhile, simple Iris is ecstatic - yet confused - about adapting to a mansion.

On the first day of her holiday, Amanda decides this is not for her; Only to meet Graham Simpkins - Iris's handsome brother.
And back in L.A. Iris becomes acquainted with Amanda's friend, Miles, who stops by to pick up some belongings of the ex boyfriend.
The emotionally scattered women then begin to discover that not all men are dirt bags and it is possible to be happy, despite how miserable they've been in the past.

This movie is quite cliche and very predictable but at the same time its cute and charming and I did enjoy it. And who doesn't love Jude Law? I mean, come on. ;)
I dont know if I would watch it over and over, but it was good in its cliche, predictability.
I think its more of a chic flick but hey, guys like chic flicks too sometimes :P
