Pleasure Ryland

OMG Ryland I love you ^_^

The Dress

I mentioned this dress earlier...
I wore it on Good Friday after I discovered if i threw my new sweater on over top of it, it would look okay. So with the sweater you cant see how rediculous the top is, lol. Its really weird. It was made for somebody with a skinny middle and a big top I guess... the skinny middle I can manage but... :P

anyways. here it is.

And the shoes of course

Coming soon; two movie reviews and a rant. Yay!

I told you this would happen...

BEFORE

I got a hair cut again! I said I would and I did :P
My mom said if I wanted one I'd have to pay for it so I hunted down pictures yesterday morning and we went.

AFTER

Its short again! lol. And I have bangs. Apparently it was worse than I thought it was because the lady was pretty amazed. In a bad way... Usually we go to Great Clips which is at the other end of the shopping center. Today I tried Best Cuts because I really didnt like the other place. The lady who cut my hair also said they did quite a number on my hair and promised she'd do a better job. So I felt a little better... I think its kind of cute... it'll take a little getting used to...

Then we went to Payless because I wanted some new shoes for church. Once again I had to pay for my own stuff. I found a pair i liked that was on sale for $16 and I found another pair that was on sale for $6. So I got two pairs of shoes for the price of one.

These gold ones are going to hopefully go with a dress my mom found at the thrift store. This dress was hand made and probably from like the '60s or something so... The top was made kind of weird so my mom has to take it in a bit... and I wanted to get some black velvet ribbon or something so it'd match the shoes more. Or maybe just normal black ribbon would be okay, I dunno... So we'll see how it goes. But I loved the shoes and they were only $6 so I got them.

They also had a pair of green and white slip on sneakers that had these cute animals and stuff all over them :P And black and neon blue skate shoes that were awesome. But I decided to stop spending money before it was all gone :P

My Health Book Wont Tell You Not To...

So I will.
somebody's got to. Its really important.
Don't drink cough syrup to get high. Its not cool.
And it makes you look like this.

For the record these dont count as my project 365 self portraits :P
Im getting my hair cut today so I'll see how it goes...

Oh, and for the record again, I was not drinking cough syrup to get high. I had this nasty chest cough so I took some mucinex to get rid of the teen mucus rocking out in my lungs.

it was a joke. :)

Deadly

"Marijuana can cause loss of interest" and so can reading pages and pages of the same thing. "This drug is bad. It does this. It could kill you. This other drug here, is also bad. It could kill you Oh and THIS one, this one's bad too. Did you know it could kill you?"
Good old health class.

What I want to know is why they dont have the pronunciation for tetrahydrocannabinol but they have the pronunciation for inhalants. I'm not a moron, I know how to pronounce inhalants, ktnx. Funny, they also dont tell me how to pronounce methylenedioxymethamphetamine. But i figured it out.

Did you know inhalants are sniffed? -gasp- I had no idea.
Oh hey, laughing gas. "Use by physicians and dentists as anesthetics." I wonder if its related to happy masks... I was wondering what was in that stuff. Nitrus oxide apparently.

INHALENTS KILL BRAIN CELLS. Dun dun DUN.

What I want to know is why would they tell kids if you take lots and lots of cough syrup, its like being on PCP? Hellooo. "Drugs are bad but if you drink lots cough syrup..." That just doesnt make sense to me. I'm not stupid, I'm not even interested in trying but what if somebody was? I dunno. Its just crazyyyy. They didn't say not to try it either... Whatever.

And now I know about pretty much every drug there is out there. I feel so much smarter now. Time to read about how great my life will be if I dont abuse drugs. horrible my life will be if i abuse drugs. Because Im such the rebel...

And now i have the song "Hash Pipe" by Weezer stuck in my head.

Assembling The Atomic Jigsaw

I bugged my mom to take me shopping for an easter dress. We tried Target first because they had some cute dresses on sale in their ad.

I HATE Target. I mean they have some cute bags sometimes and some cool t-shirts most of the time, but when it comes to dressy clothes and shoes, they suck. And when do I ever buy bags and t-shirts? Like never. So it doesn't do me any good.

So, frustrated, we headed to Old Navy. Which also sucked. And then we walked down to Dots. Dots is officially my new favorite store. They had awesome clothes all over the place and the lady was SUCH a big help. She asked me what I was looking for, what I liked, and helped me find a few things. I tried on a bunch of cute dresses but none of them really worked for me. But my mom found this one.

Its cute, and the employee chic even helped me find a sweater to go with it.

So yeah, the sweater was $7 and the dress was $20 which is pretty good considering the ugly dresses at Target were $40.

Its all ruffly at the top too...
I was hoping to find something colorful to wear with it... cuz its all black and white... and the shoes are I have that match (from Christmas) are black too.

I especially like the sweater though because I'll be able to wear it with other stuff too so...
yay. lol.

Hopefully we can go back some time... they had some suhweet leggings, and some really awesome shirts so...

Let's Live

Ski club today. In the rain and melting snow. The snow was actually really good. It was the rain that sucked. Everything was soaked.
But since I had to get up early all this week and for some reason half of my siblings were up at freaking six in the morning and woke me up, then after four hours of snowboarding in the rain I was really tired. I still am really tired actually... Luckily tomorrow is Saturday so hopefully I'll sleep in.

On Peter's Pride today, the next hill up from Buttermilk, experience wise, they had these GIANT jumps set up and rails and stuff it was pretty sweet. I am not insane, nor stupid enough to even try them. But it was cool to watch the people who actually have experience going over them. Those jumps were huge... Like 10-20 feet high. It was insane.

Today I played around with speed. I'm more comfortable now going fast and I dont feel like I'm out of control as much. When I do start to feel out of control I slow down... AND I rode switch (aka: fakie) a little bit today. Its not as confusing as it was at first but then again when we just started out I was pretty okay with it too... so. Its all good. Unfortunately the snow is melting, slowly but surely, and the rain isn't helping. So there's only a couple more weeks, if that.

I'm gonna miss it. But I won't miss the cold... if only there was a way to snowboard without the cold weather :P
I guess that would be called skateboarding huh? Thats gonna take forever... snow hurts less than cement does. And my feet arent connected, lol.

Lucky 13

Today was the Science test. There were a couple I had to guess on and a couple I was unsure about but other than that it went okay. After the test we went to Lake Farm Park to see the lambs.

Tuesday we watched a ewe give birth... it was kind of gross but such is life right? :P It was also kind of fascinating. Obviously, what isn't fascinating about bringing new life into the world? One of the ladies who worked there had to help out, the lamb's shoulder was caught against the pelvis or something like that so she pulled on the tiny hooves and out came this little lamb. Today when we went to visit we found out that the ewe had another lamb after we had gone.

Both times we've visited the farm park there have been a group of retarded people there. I guess its like a class or something... but groups of retarded people make me sad. Mostly probably because I feel bad for them. One of the retarded guys blew me a kiss as he passed me in the hallway. I smiled at him. Lol, when I'm feeling down I just have to remember the retarded guy things I'm pretty :P Thats a real moral booster.

Anyways, moving on.

They had the two Clydesdales out in the arena today. The arena is right next to where the sheep pens are. So after I was done looking at the lambs I went over and hung out with them for a while. Clydesdales are amazing. Bigger horses are usually calmer and nicer in general I guess but I've always loved the clydesdales and shires especially. Then Sarah wasnt feeling well so we went home.

Lambs are so fun to take pictures of, I wish the lighting had been better inside...

Education Beyond Grammar

This week I have to take the OGT tests. They started on Monday and I didn't blog about them because I forgot and then didn't feel like it. So I'm blogging now.

The Ohio Graduation Tests are a group of five tests some old people came up with because they want to make sure teachers are actually doing their jobs in Ohio. Basically there's a test for each subject: reading, math, writing, science, and social studies. In that order. Most of the tests have around 44 questions except for the writing one so far. It had 13 questions but two essay questions. So, since I go to school online and not in a building, administering these tests taking them is kind of hard. (As apposed to sitting down in a class room and taking them, the teachers go someplace and some kids go to that place and then we take the tests and go home)

Basically they send a small group of teachers to locations across the state and have kids go to those locations. We didn't know where I was going until three days before the test... No one mailed me anything, no one called me, no one emailed me. My mom just happened to hear that theres a link on the school website. So we checked it out... three days before the first test. But its about a half an hour away. Some little Holiday Inn right off the freeway.

So they set up some tables in a small conference room and every day we get there at 9 am. (which involves waking up between 7:45 and 8, or 6:45 and 7 if my body is still not ready for daylight savings) Then they read the instructions, we take the test and go home until the next day.

Surprisingly enough I wasn't stressing out over these. The amount of classes they crammed in for these in the past month was quite overwhelming and I think I missed most of them. But Monday rolled around and I'm pretty calm about the whole thing. No butterflies, no worries, just annoyed that my hair is impossible these days, and daylight savings time just happened to be the day before i have to start getting up earlier.

The tests that I've taken so far have been pretty easy. The math one had some crazy problems on it that I had absolutely no clue about but I didn't freak out when I saw them. I knew they'd be there. I'm a little concerned about science. I loved physical science but I am not digging biology. And chemistry was just a disaster. But I'm still not gonna freak out and get all excited. Hopefully I'll pass and never have to take them again, if not I have six more chances. So I don't think I have anything to worry about.

The thing I don't get is that they have three hours for testing. Usually it takes me anywhere between an hour and and hour and forty five minutes to finish a test and i know that its not possible any kid could spend three hours on one of those tests. So I think they should have like a half hour hang out time or something... Maybe I've seen some of these kids in my classes before but in class they're just a name on a screen. I'd like to meet other kids and hang out with them so I think that would be a cool idea. Because right now we just sit in silence for a few hours and then leave. But maybe thats just me... I have a weird thing about socializing.

My mom rescheduled Friday's test (social studies) so i can go snowboarding. I'll just have to take it on Monday.

So that's about it.
I was gonna say something else but I forgot what it was.

High Rise In Fashion

Well I'm not an expert when it comes to fashion stuff... I like it, I like matching up outfits, shopping, and reading about the latest trends but everybody has their own views and opinions on it. This is just what I've noticed though... high waisted pants, shorts, and skirts are "in" now. Low-rise is still popular but the high waists are making a comeback.

I guess this is good news for modesty's sake but what in the world do you wear them with??
I personally think the jeans look kind of weird. The skirt could work with the right kind of shirt, but I don't really like the jeans much. They just look kind of awkward I guess. Is that the right word? And then you have to wear them with some kind of pump or boot or they just look weird. :P

Movie Review: Knocked Up

Title: Knocked Up
Rating: R
Genre: Comedy
Starring: Seth Rogen, Katherine Heigl,
I give this movie four out of ten stars.

Alison goes out clubbing with her older sister and has a couple drinks... She meets Ben and has a couple more. And some more. And she eventually ends up sleeping with the guy. Eight weeks later, while interviewing someone for the tv show she works for, she starts getting morning sickness. Alison discovers much to her horror, that she is pregnant.

So she hunts down Ben, who turns out to be living in a house with his druggie friends, a total low-life with nothing to offer. She wants to make it work though and so they both try.

Ben starts cleaning up his act, as he gets closer and closer to Alison. Eventually she wants to give up and just have the baby by herself but after nearly having the baby in her house, the only person she can turn to is Ben.

I liked that in this movie both of the parents decided to keep the baby and they tried their best to make it work between them. And despite all the problems they came across, it worked out for them. What I didn't like was the continuous swearing and the occasional "scenes". There were some funny parts but it wasn't my favorite movie, and I wouldn't recommend it. Don't watch this movie with kids around.

Caaaarving

Today I walked out the door and the first thing I did was slip and fall on some ice. Smooth. The snow was kind of weird today, at the bottom and tops of the slopes it was like sand almost. It was bizarre. But the slopes were still pretty good today, just fast enough but not completely ice. We went down a couple times before we had a lesson at 11:30.

The instructor was nice, he said he didnt know if we'd get our sticker that day... not to discourage us but he just didn't want to give us false hope... and I was okay with that. To get the next sticker, which is blue four, we have to be able to do J-turns, fakie. Meaning with our opposite foot forward. So Jake and I figured it out relatively quickly. The instructor had to keep reminding me to be patient and wait for my board so I worked on that. We got it eventually. Timmy had a little trouble. Then after we mastered the fakie stuff, we had to work on carving. He said it was kind of hard and thats why we might not get our sticker that day... he told us to try it and so we did. Then at the bottom of the hill he said "You guys were carving!" he was pretty surprised. So we got our sticker, except Timmy. He was having a bad day and not quite getting the J-turns down... the guy did some one on one with him while Jake and I practiced a little bit.

So then we went out on our own... the snow was falling and it hurt a lot, like little tiny grains of ice, so that was pretty painful. I also managed to get the rail almost every time i went for it... I just have to work on not falling at the end. I also managed to go over the jump but I kept falling too. So... we have to work on our fakie stuff and I want to work on not falling off the rails or the jump.

The guy was impressed that it was our first season snowboarding and we had as many stickers as we did so that was kind of cool. I have noticed I havent been falling as much and Im more comfortable going fast so... Im up for one more friday of cold weather, at least... :P Then it can start warming up...

move over orlando bloom

Milo Ventimiglia plays Peter Petrelli on Heroes. I wasn't a huge fan or anything at first but he grew on me. He's awesome in Heroes, and I was looking at pictures today... this is the second picture I've seen of him wearing a Volcom shirt.

He can't get much more awesome than that right?

Give Me Novocaine

Today I had to get my tooth pulled. I had one last baby tooth and it was holding up the adult tooth or something like that. So today was the appointment... I wasn't that nervous I guess. I just wasnt sure how it was gonna happen.

So they took me back to this room and closed the door so that the little kids passing by wouldnt have to look at all the blood squirting all over the place. Then the dentist said "You're gonna wear a happy mask, you've never had a happy mask before..."

Ha ha... yessss I have. I loved my happy mask. I used to chew on it and smell it... It was hot pink and smelled like strawberries or something... I got it when I was like 4 and I had cavity. But I didnt tell him that. Anyways, he's like "Your arms will start to feel funny and then you'll feel funny all over, just relax blah blah blah" So he puts the happy mask on my nose.
I was waiting for my arms to start tingling. They didnt.

Duuuuuude.
Then I noticed I was trip-trip-trippin'
It was pretty fascinating.
He gave me a shot of something, and then I could feel something dripping in my mouth. Apparently blood since they had to vacuum it all up. Anyways, it only hurt a tiny bit. He poked it a couple times and then had this big... thing that pulled it out the rest of the way.

It took about 10 minutes, if that.

Then my eyes started watering. Usually its just one but today both of my eyes decided to water. Like, a lot...
So the lady's like "are you okay??"
I laughed a little and nodded.
I've just come to accept that my eyes will water and people will think I'm crying. Its annoying but I'm over it.
It got me a coin from the prize machine at least.
I haven't gotten a coin for the prize machine in like, forever.

AND I GOT A STICKER. that says "Worlds greatest patient" on it

yay.
i guess these days they dont actually give out the nose pieces to happy masks to the patients... darn, lol. I didnt even get to pick a scent, whats up with that?

my legs feel kind of funny....

I need some help...

Well I discovered yesterday that my spiffy new blog template doesn't allow comments. That I know of. Not that people normally comment anyways, but still... I was wondering if maybe it was part of the coding or something or if there was something I could plug in and make it work. x3
Or I could just decide if I like comments more than my blog template... So if anybody knows, I'll guess you'll have to post in my shoutbox....

And I guess if I dont get any "shouts" I'll have to think about a new template or something. :(
Which would stink because I really really like this one.

Okay, so I suck at "fashion photography"

I had absolutely no creativity today for pictures... actually lately I've been noticing that a lot. o.o Hmm.

But I got some new clothes!

The family I babysit for wanted to get me a birthday present. but they didn't want to get me something I didn't want so today the mom took me to the mall to pick something out. She knew Pacific Sunwear is one of my favorite stores (because they sell volcom stuff there.) but um... she was looking for stuff around $20 and... I passed a pair of awesome Volcom shorts... that were $40. So we left that store pretty quick. They did have a totally sweet volcom belt... with the volcom stone all over it in different sizes. but it was $20... -_- pssht.

Anyways, we stopped in Wet Seal. I've never been in there before but they have some awesome stuff there. I was in love with the hot pink skinny jeans. But the only pair they had left was size 00. Whatever that means, lol. So i tried on the bright blue pair, and some normal colored ones, and some "short" ones and size 7, size 3 (barely), size 5.

Unfortunately, skinny jeans don't work on me. No matter how cool they are. T_T Im not skinny enough I guess, lol. I have weird legs... But moving on.

I don't go shopping for myself a lot. I admire everything and never try anything on or buy anything. So its always weird for me, when I actually go someplace to buy something for myself... because I just don't do it. lol. They had some awesome t-shirts there... but I didnt "have to have" any of them... Finally I discovered I liked the long stretchy camisoles... so I tried some on and I found a shirt to go over it and found some shorts I really really liked. So voila. After like two hours I found something... Unfortunately it ended up being like $40 so the lady I went with paid for the shorts and I paid for the two shirts.

I HAVE GIRLY CLOTHES NOW :P
Now I just have to wait for it to warm up so I can actually wear them. meh.

Ski Club

Its that time of week again folks. :P
Ski club! Yay.

Today was perfect. It was snowing the first hour or two and the snow was so nice and fluffy. My board was perfect, AND they updated "The Park" which is a little section on Buttermilk where there are some rails and a jump. I managed to slide on my butt on a rail, and almost got it a couple other times but other than that, it didnt do so hot with the rails. But the jump was cool. Actually, the first time i went over it, I managed not to fall but I think I feel every other time after that... lol. But it was fun. What bugged me was the show offs who think they know everything. They kept taking turns when there were other people there first and stuff... I mean, yeah its cool you can do tricks off the jump but you don't have to be a jerk.

Other than that it was great. Nearer the end we hung out with Jake and his friend but Timmy and I were on our own for a while until Matt decided to hang out with us.

This is Matt:

He's in 8th grade. And he's pretty much the only person who talks to me... Actually he is the only other kid who really talks to me. Thats only because he talks to everyone... he actually ditched us for a while but he found Timmy and I again and went down a couple slopes with us. He talks pretty much all the time. lol...

What in the-? Pulling some Pete Wentz dance moves I guess. I tried to find a picture of Pete Wentz doing the dance but I couldnt... >_< aw well.

American Idol: Whats up with that?

Last night the three Davids were on fire.
And David A. brought the house down and made everyone cry. <3
I also thought Chickezie was pretty good too. I also liked Jason Castro but his hair is kind of distracting. Its just... ugly. He has really long dread locks, and I don't think the look works for him. I think he'd look really nice with a haircut... and he has beautiful eyes...

But I was really disappointed with almost everybody else. This is supposed to be the best of the best in America right now. So why are they sucking? Maybe it was the themes so far, 60's and 70's are probably pretty tough but still, there were contestants who managed to make it work out for them, they all should be able to make it work out. Luke Menard took on Killer Queen and just... ick. It was pretty bad. I've only heard the cover version on Guitar Hero II but it didnt sound as bad as Luke made it sound. It was just horrible.

And SIMON. What is up with that British dude? I used to love Simon but he's being all snobby and obnoxious this year. People are standing up to him now or commenting on what he has to say and he's getting all offended and pouting. Its annoying! he told one guy he was boring because he likes crossword puzzles.

Another thing that bugs me it seems like everyone this season has been here before or done something else big(ger) in the music industry. For example, one of the guys was an acapella singer in a group and went on tour for five years. What happened to giving the normal people a chance? The people that wouldn't normally be discovered. If everyone has already had their chance, whats the point in the competition?

Of all the guys, David A definitely has the most natural talent. He has a pretty good chance of winning, and even winning doesn't mean that much anymore. Somebody'll snatch him up and offer him a record deal. How could they not? Everybody loves him already.

David Hernandez:

David Archuletta:

and YouTube doesnt have any David Cook videos yet... but he was good :P

Just Not Feelin' It, Dawg

We went snowboarding today because we have free passes. Timmy has been bugging us about it all weekend. When we got there I discovered I'd forgotten my hat. Probably because little people happen to like my hat and so it never made it in the dryer with everything else -- it ended up out of the way in my room where it won't attract attention to little eyes. And apparently big ones too.

We got our stuff and went outside. And I felt kind of awkward on my board. It just wasn't right. So I messed around with the bindings to try and see if that would help and it was just weird. I didn't feel comfortable with it and I didn't like the way it felt. So I went to go see if I could get a new one. Apparently "I dont like it" isn't a good enough reason to get a new board. And neither is "Well, it just feels weird." Because "all the boards are exactly the same" even though its kind of obvious they aren't since I was perfectly fine with the board I had last week. But whatever. Now I was in a bad mood because I hated my board and they wouldn't give me a new one plus I got the hat with cat barf on it that was laying around the car.

Then we went up Buttermilk. Which is the next hill up from the little hill. And I kept falling because something was up with my stupid snowboard. Everytime I would try to go in a straight line it was start turning or something, or one of the edges would come up and I'd trip over a clump in the snow. And the snow was so thin it was like landing on the sidewalk. It sucked. So after falling on my rear a couple times I had to start turning when I fell because it hurt REALLY really badly to just fall down on my bottom. This led to trying to rip my arm out of it's socket three times and that really hurt too.

Next we tried Peter's Pride. Which is the next hill up without getting to the black hills.
It was fine. Except I kept falling when i would try to go in a straight line for too long... Which led to landing on my knees really hard. And ripping my arms out of their sockets some more. Jacob managed to convince me to try out North Bowl. Because Jacob is some kind of a pro and loves going down steep hills in straight lines at top speed. North Bowl was a bad idea. It doesn't look steep but it is so i went back over to Peter's Pride. Because I am not a pro, Im a wimp with a bad attitude and a board that outs to get me.

So I finally was ready to take a break, if not call it quits. Before I fell and broke my behind for life or was crippled by smashing in my knee caps. I wasn't having "a totally rockin' time dude!" it was just okay. But at least I mastered the art of turning. When i wasn't falling down. The best part of the whole thing was the fact that we forgot lunch so we got McDonalds.

Side slipping, toe-side. Aka - backwards.
I did a lot of this.

There I go again.

Thinking about turning...

trying. Oh man. Im gonna fall.

Survivor Micronesia; Again

xD
Lol, Sisky keeps betting more and more money that his brother will "dominate the show"
And Chiz's hair isnt as bad this week,

Jason pwns so far.
He's a skilled player who doesn't come off as threatening. Yet. lol.

Do You Want To Learn To Fly?

Yesterday was a perfect day for snowboarding! It was just the right temperature (I left my jacket inside most of the time and just went out with my hoodie) and the snow was all nice and fluffy. Since Timmy and I still needed another sticker to technically move onto the next hill, my mom arranged a lesson for us. While we were waiting, however, I convinced Timmy to go over to the bigger hill. We went up it and were pretty surprised at how much bigger that hill was! lol, but it was easier to get off the lift and was more even at the top. Not only that, but they have "rails" to grind and a little jump. I managed to actually stay on one of the rails but I was afraid to go off the jump, lol. At the bottom it gets really steep though so I was imagining Timmy zooming down the hill past me and running into everyone. But he was smart, lol, and he knew what to do.

We got a lesson from a guy I knew. I was a little disappointed to be honest, because I don't really like the way he teaches. he was the guy from two weeks ago that didn't give me my sticker. Apparently he's better at teaching private lessons though. He was trying to explain twisting the board to me and after my first try he was like "That was just... beautiful!" lol! So I picked up on stuff a lot easier yesterday. I got the twisting thing down pretty well and Timmy got his toe-side turns down and we went over to the bigger hill for a run. We were supposed to work on linking more symmetrical turns. I did okay on the even part but when i slowed down I fell over. When we got to the steep part I did really great with the turns and the guy let me know my turns had just been beautiful! :P

So we ended up getting TWO stickers yesterday. W00t.
So all in all, it was a perfect day for snowboarding. We ended up staying out until 20 to 3, usually we leave around 2, lol. Unfortunately I left my camera at home so no pictures this week.
